F-STEAM Plasencia 2019 is the final product of the Erasmus+ STEMcooking project: Discovering Science and Maths through cooking.
This fair has an international character, since not only students from our centre participate in it, but also students from all over Extremadura and those from Croatia, France and Ireland involved in our Erasmus+ project.
F-STEAM Plasencia 2019 arose from a shared initiative, the commitment to favour citizens participation in the scientific processes, the promotion of scientific vocations among school children and young people, the development of teaching-learning models based on research, the enhancement of social and economic usefulness of science and technology as well as the attractive career prospects and,
exchange of good educational practices among teachers favouring innovation and research from the educational field.
Its purpose is to create an educational, cultural and recreational space that allows the exchange, dissemination and communication of scientific knowledge.
The commemoration coincides with the 150th anniversary of Dimitry Mendeleev ordering of the chemical elements in the periodic table. In this sense, it is proposed to present projects related to: the applications and contribution of the periodic table to society from different approaches (from chemistry, biology, astronomy, etc.) or from the perspective of the origin of the chemical elements and their presence on the Earth, on the Moon or in the rest of the Solar System.
To Promote scientific research in educational centres in Extremadura, making its dissemination possible.
To contribute to the development of scientific vocations in Extremadura through an active and practical approach to teaching science and contacting researchers.
To develop creativity and the innovative and enterprising spirit among the participating students.
To promote scientific dissemination to bring the scientific-technological disciplines and citizenship closer highlighting its importance in everyday life.
